JOB: Op Mgr New Arts/Education Building in Santa Monica

New Roads School, a K-12 independent school in Santa Monica, is seeking an
Operations Manager for the new Capshaw-Spielberg Center for Arts &
Educational Justice, which houses the Ann and Jerry Moss Theater, a
344-seat state-of-the-art theater, and the Leadership Center, a 2,000
square foot community forum.

This pivotal position needs knowledge and skill in several areas including:
(1) office management and communication; (2) facilities maintenance and
oversight; (3) scheduling; (4) technical theater; and (5) administration of
performance contracts. This position will report to the Business Office
and will operate as “control central” of the building, with direct
communication and personal interaction with New Roads Administrative staff,
Facilities and Security departments, Technical staff, faculty, students,
and outside artists and production crews. This person will handle all
inquiries for rentals and special events, and maintain all scheduling
coordination with the school’s master calendar. This is a full-time
salaried position ($45-50k DOE) with full benefits, that will often require
working during evenings and weekends.

BUILDING & FACILITIES

· Introduce the building and its services to interested parties

· Schedule and publish building use (including all spaces –
theater, lobby, conference room, green rooms and shop)

· Interface with campus-wide scheduling

· Maintain facility punch list for maintenance crew – coordinate
repairs and upgrades

· Follow up on security, access, and parking issues, as needed

ARTIST SERVICES

· Attend artist intake meetings, and disseminate artist and
production information to relevant staff

· Provide general artist support and hospitality, as required
(i.e., visiting artists).

GENERAL OPERATIONS

· Actively participate in relevant administrative and department
meetings

· Schedule and support theater staff

· Prepare and process contracts, obtain necessary insurance and fees

· Support Business Manager in financial operations/budgets of
building

*Desired Qualifications:*

Bachelor’s degree or higher educational certification

Minimum of 5 years professional experience working in a theater,
operations, or facilities

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to prioritize and follow-through on several projects/tasks
simultaneously

Effective organization, time management, and attention to detail

Technical experience in concert production and/or company management, a plus

Practical knowledge of calendar and ticketing software a plus
