Qualifications: Applicant must have prior experience in a gallery or comparable setting, a Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant field, be very organized, detail-oriented, punctual and professional in demeanor. Applicant must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure, exciting, international environment, and be welcoming, articulate, confident, and a team player. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must, which include a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Knowledge of Constant Contact, QuickBooks, Photoshop and Wordpress is a plus.

Responsibilities:
• Management of daily operations including: handling all telephone reception/incoming mail and e-mail correspondence, maintaining supplies, opening and closing of gallery
• Staffing all evening events held at the gallery
• Assistance with press duties
• Contribution and maintenance of all gallery social media activities (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
• Management of the gallery calendar and scheduling of meetings, exhibitions and company deadlines
• Assisting gallery owner, co-director and associate director (with correspondence, sales, etc.)
• Contributing to the development of exhibitions and events for the gallery through research efforts
• Coordinating exhibition preparations
• Coordinating exhibition de-installations
• Coordinating program activities during exhibitions including artist/curator interviews, lectures, tours, and other gatherings
• Preparation of art fair materials as directed by gallery staff
• Maintenance of inventory and overseeing of all incoming and outgoing gallery artwork consignments
• Management of all artist requests for submissions and guidelines: organize received submissions and present strong applications during quarterly staff meetings
• Proactively attend programs of other organizations to stay current with contemporary practices and conduct research into current practice in the visual arts, dance, film, performance, and new media.
• Act as the direct liaison with the public regarding current and upcoming exhibitions.
