The Institute for Art and Olfaction: Summer Internships

AMP's picture

The Institute for Art and Olfaction is currently looking for four good men or women to help us with specific projects at our HQ in downtown LA during the months of June, July and August.

We are seriously committed to education and access at the IAO, and will strive to create an opportunity to grow, to learn all about running an arts non-profit, and to develop your own creative ideas in a supportive and honest environment. Consider it a new version of the old fashioned concept of apprenticeship.

In exchange for your time and service you will receive:

- Full access to our classes and events during the course of your tenure with us
- The chance to work with all-star cast of artists and institutions
- A supportive environment with open access to our collective knowledge base
- A deep understanding of what it takes to run an arts-based non-profit (your parents will thank us when you run screaming to the financial sector, instead)
- The opportunity to help shape a fast-growing emergent arts organization

Positions available:
- Residency Project Internship (x2)
- Library Internship
- Marketing and Development Internship

What the heck is the Institute for Art and Olfaction? Funny you should ask.

The Institute for Art and Olfaction instigates and advances engagement with scent through the visual, fine, and performing arts. We do this by providing public education programs, building an archive of contemporary scent releases, offering a residency-based laboratory for cross-discipline experimentation, and by inciting innovation and collaboration between perfumers, scientists and other creative practitioners. Through these efforts, we extend the world of scent beyond its traditional boundaries of appreciation and use.
