Job Open: Photography Program Manager

Position Summary: Venice Arts seeks a versatile, accomplished, and
committed photographer, educator, and manager for the photography and
multimedia components of its award-winning Art Mentoring Program. This
full-time, exempt position's primary roles and responsibilities include:
management and development of the photography programs and curricula;
recruitment, training, and retention of Lead Artists, volunteer
artist-mentors; leadership in the development of the internship and
college-level components across all program areas (photo, film,
animation, etc.). This position also teaches two photography workshops
each cycle and works collaboratively with the Lead Filmmaker on
innovating program components and supporting special projects.

Qualifications: An excellent educator and experienced photographer with
experience in analog and digital practices, as well as multimedia.
Experience teaching photography to youth, required, as is background and
interest in documentary genre community storytelling. Familiarity with
participant produced media a plus, as is experience working with
volunteers and training other artists. Advanced degree (M.F.A.)
preferred. Must demonstrate extensive creative and technical knowledge
in photography, as well as a breadth of knowledge about both
contemporary and historic works. Must possess a high level of computer
proficiency and be expert with photography and multimedia software. Well
organized, detailed oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
successfully.
