California Dance Institute Seeks Executive Director
The California Dance Institute (CDI) will hire an Executive Director in
January of 2012, with a trial period of 6 months to be extended to full
time upon satisfactory performance. For information on CDI, please

Candidate will be a strong leader, an excellent communicator and an
innovative multi-tasker. Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
are a must, as are honesty, and the ability to prioritize and meet
deadlines. Strong skills in the following areas are highly desired:

Fundraising—All levels, including the dynamics involved with current
givers, identification of new potential support and competency in
personal cultivation and solicitation;must have a track record and solid
contacts in this area. Supervise Grants Manager and Development
Coordinator in planning and implementation of grant proposals and
fundraising campaigns.

Development—Plan future growth and create opportunities for same.
Working with staff and Board,amend/implement CDI's 5-year plan as
needed.

Board— Act as liaison to Board and oversee Board participation in
CDI projects, fundraising,events, etc. Present reports at Board
Meetings. Meet regularly with Board President.

Supervision—Direct and coordinate administrative personnel and act
as link between artistic and administrative components of CDI.

Finance—Budget process and preparation, and knowledge of how best to
prepare statements for anon-profit.

Computer—Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint required.
Familiarity with data-base/fundraising programs desirable.

Qualifications: Candidate will have a BA/MBA, excellent writing and
speaking skills, and administrative/fundraising experience in an arts or
human services non-profit with a track record of increasing
revenue.Interest in/knowledge of dance and children's health and
education desirable.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
