AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

Tina Oppenheimer (AMPster) drew the wings and sent me a bunch -- I drew in the bod' and watercolored it.

Tawny and I have been invited by costumer to the "Cars" Ann Closs-Farley to design and build a costume for Ms. January of this year's 99cent musical.

Ken Roht's (Orphean Circus) nearly annual 99cent show features a set and costumes COMPLETELY CREATED WITH MATERIALS FROM THE 99CENT ONLY STORE!

As a documentation of our process, as well as a tutorial for anyone interested in working in this style, I will be checking in with a new post every few days...

Our first meeting with Ann was great. She let us "shop" for a whole bag of goodies donated by the 99cent only stores. We grabbed packing tape, plastic tablecloth material, silver "bead" necklaces, shiny car visors (for the front window,) and other miscellaneous materials.

More of newly re-shopped from original pencil, colored pencils on 3x5 index cards I drew when I couldn't afford a deck. Crtude, because while I can draw ok when I don't know what I'm going to draw, but awful when I am trying to do something particular.
