Call for Artists – 3rd Annual “Seasons” Online Art Competition

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces a call for artists for the gallery’s 3rd Annual “Seasons” online art competition for the month of December 2013. The gallery would like for all 2D artists (including photography), regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best interpretation. The gallery encourages entries from artists, regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best interpretation of the “Seasons” theme. Art which is submitted should represent the four distinct times of the year, along with any scenes, events, or any activities associated with those four seasons of the year.

Countryside Art Exhibition Now Online and Ready to View

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its December 2013 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online. The theme for this art exhibition is “Countryside” and artists were asked to submit their best interpretation of the countryside theme by depicting rural living, rustic charm, the outdoors and pastoral scenes for possible inclusion into the December 2013 online art exhibition.

An art competition was held in November 2013 which determined and judged the art for this exhibition. The gallery received submissions from 14 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 26 different states. Overall, there were 343 entries that were judged for this art competition.

*LEAD ARTISTS: COMMUNITY STORY LAB*

Venice Arts requests qualifications from photographers, filmmakers, and/or
multimedia artists for a unique, 18-month participatory-art project, the
Community Story Lab. This project will engage low-income adults in
collaborative storytelling using photography, video, and/or audio, and will
result in a final film, image series, and/or multimedia piece. Funded by a
grant from the James Irvine Foundation, the project offers an opportunity
to build off of Venice Arts’ long history with participant-media projects
and media-based arts education, and to explore new and dynamic ideas about
community arts engagement and participant–artist collaboration.

A Noise Within, California’s home for the Classics, is currently seeking Acting Interns for our Spring 2014 Season. Productions include Tartuffe, Macbeth, and Come Back, Little Sheba.

Learn what it takes to be part of a professional classical theatre company, performing three productions in rotating repertory! Acting Interns are challenged to apply their talents in all areas, from analyzing a classic text to running lights and sound for a production. Acting Interns are eligible for the Equity Membership Candidate Program.
TUITION
$550.00 for 12 weeks of Conservatory Classes. Housing is not provided. A limited number of scholarships are available. Your $50 application fee is applied towards tuition if you are accepted in the program.

Artist nominations open for Culture Lab (Los Angeles, CA)

Nominations are now open for Silverlake Independent JCCs newest program: Culture Lab - designed to engage, facilitate, promote (and fund) art.

Drawing from Los Angeles' rich and diverse artist population, Culture Lab unites five artists (nominated by their peers) from different disciplines to collaborate on the creation of new work inspired by a Jewish theme.

Artists are provided a stunning studio space in Downtown Los Angeles, a working stipend and resources to create their dynamic new piece. Based on the backgrounds and interests of the artists, the SIJCC will connect the Lab with Jewish scholars and experts in collaborative process to enrich their creative experience.

Exceptional Children's Foundation, a growing nonprofit social service agency serving clients with developmental disabilities throughout LA County, is seeking an experienced, Art Instructor/Printmaker for our Art Center studio in San Pedro. The Instructor will work one-on-one with adult students with developmental disabilities to develop their own unique artwork for sale. Qualified candidates will know a variety of printmaking techniques and other mixed-media techniques including drawing, painting, collage, etc. that can be adapted to create successful projects with our students. Responsibilities also include ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, and helping to maintain an overall enjoyable studio for all participants.

Music Director Needed (Los Angeles area)

Sacred Fools is seeking a Music Director for the West Coast premiere of the
musical CHINA - THE WHOLE ENCHILADA, by Mark Brown, with musical
arrangements by Paul Mirkovich. Director: Allison Bibicoff. There are some
rehearsals in December, with a break for the holidays, and continuing in
January for a February 4 opening. The rehearsals schedule is very flexible
and will be set once we have a cast - we are open to daytime or evening
rehearsals. The MD is NOT needed to play the show - only to teach the
music, play most rehearsals, and possibly play auditions. There is a small
