The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs is now accepting proposals for its 2016-17 Artist in Residence (AIR) grant program.

The Artist in Residence RFP seeks community-based/teaching artists to coordinate multi-week participatory workshops culminating in group presentations in non-arts venues such as social service agencies. CURRENT:LA Water will establish the city’s first Public Art Biennial for Los Angeles. Led by the City of
Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) Public Art Division, the initiative will utilize public sites throughout L.A. neighborhoods for temporary art projects that aim to generate civic discourse on the issue
of water and allied topics such as infrastructure, drought, ecology, and conservation, among others.

California Humanities welcomes applications for 2015 California Documentary Project Grant

The California Documentary Project (CDP) is a competitive grant program of California Humanities that supports documentary film, radio, and new media productions that enhance our understanding of California and its cultures, peoples, and histories. Projects should use the humanities to provide context, depth, and perspective and be suitable for California and national audiences through broadcast and/or distribution. CDP grants support documentary projects at the research and development and production stages with grant amounts ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. California residency is not a requirement of eligibility.
