Funding for non-profit arts organizations to hire college undergraduate interns in summer 2011 is available from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. Little Fish Theatre (LFT) is a program of Shakespeare by the Sea (SBTS).
It began in January of 2002 and offers a year-long line-up of new,
classic and contemporary plays. This primarily volunteer-run company is

Summary of Position:
The Theatre Manager position at LFT is responsible for the day-to-day
management and up keep of the theatre facility, located at 777 Centre

The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) launched a music contest to fight impunity surrounding crimes against journalists in the Americas. The contest invites the public to participate as performers, lyricists or composers by posting videos, songs or lyrics on the anti-impunity cause on a newly created website www.impunidad.com/donatuvoz/esp/.
The "Lend Your Voice to the Voiceless" song contest will use social networks to raise awareness of crimes against journalists. The website is already posting promotional music videos made by amateur artists from Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Colombia. The six-month campaign will use Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube to encourage Internet users to join the anti-impunity cause.

AllArtNow, founded in 2005 in Damascus, is a private initiative to support contemporary Syrian arts - especially installation and video art, and to network with other organizations (in Syria and abroad) to cooperate in different activities, such as exhibitions, workshops, and exchanges.
AllArtNow is open to artists from different regions of the world to work and be in contact with local artists. By collaborating with others the current ecology of the arts in Syria can be improved.
In its 2011 program "Living Spaces" AllArtNow will be showing a selection of artworks including video, multi-media installations, performance, street art.
The Women of African Descent Film Festival, presented by the Brooklyn Chapter of the Links Inc., seeks feature length and short films directed, written or produced by female filmmakers of African descent. The festival is now accepting submissions of narrative feature and short films, documentaries and animations for the festival, which will take place in May 2011 in Brooklyn, NY.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The One World festival is now accepting short and feature length documentary films and short animation films with human rights themes. One World is a year-round institute dedicating itself to the promotion of documentary films.
Films from anyone around the world are eligible for awards in the following categories:
The Best Film Award;
The Best Director;
The Vaclav Havel Special Award for the film with the most significant contribution to human rights awareness;
The Rudolf Vrba Award given to the best film in the Right to Know category;
The Audience Award VŠEM Award; and
The Student Jury Award
Only films completed in the last two years can be considered for the competitive programme.
