Open auditions are helf for singers for a women's chorale on the
westside. Must be late 30's to late 50's, have a strong singing voice
and able to sightread music.
The group sings 3-part (SSA) harmony music on contemporary, standards
and pop music with a jazz feel. They meet the 1st/3rd Tues. night of
each month from 7-9:30 p.m. in Westchester (bordering Culver City).
There is a small annual fee of $175 for sheet music, the accompanist and
some marketing and admin.

The Painted Brain is seeking submissions for the Issue 7 of its magazine
by the same name. The theme for this issue is "Identity". Deadline for
submissions is March 4, 2011.

Issue 7 will be released in April 2011 at our 2nd Annual Gallery Show in
Downtown LA. (Details coming soon).
For the past 2 issues we have featured a "Beginner's Guide to mental
illness", which provides insights from young adults affected by mental
illness. For Issue 7, we will continue our Beginner's Guide with a focus
on medication. We are especially interested in publishing commentary
We're looking for passionate arts instructors to teach elementary and middle school students in our first Arts Adventure Summer Camp in Calabasas. Sessions will run Monday-Thursday from 8:30-11:30 am and are 3 weeks long. All profits go to support arts education programs in Las Virgenes Unified School District.
ELEMENTARY: June 20 to July 7 at AE Wright Middle School and July 11 to July 28 at Yerba Buena Elementary School. Students will explore all art forms in each session. We have openings for arts instructors in: Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts. Honorarium is $600 per session for each art form – 2 days per week for 3 weeks.
REDCAT is accepting proposals for original performance works for the 2011 New Original Works Festival. The Festival is designed to support the development and presentation of contemporary performance in Los Angeles through a three-week interdisciplinary program of dance, theater, music and multi-disciplinary works. Entering its eighth year, the Festival features a flexible schedule to accommodate a variety of short works and occasionally some longer projects in their Los Angeles premieres, and provides development support through technical assistance, access to the theater with its sound and lighting inventory, and an honorarium.
The DUMBO Arts Festival is a feast for the senses that attracts 200,000 visitors over 3 days with the participation of over 500 artists from a variety of disciplines, 100 studios, 50 galleries and stages and 100 programming partners. This year, the Festival will take place on Friday, September 23rd, Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, September 25th.
