Grants for film, radio and new media
Deadline: October 3, 2011
The California Documentary Project (CDP) is a competitive grant program
of the California Council for the Humanities. CDP supports the research
and development, production, and public engagement stages of film,
radio, and interactive new media projects that document the California
experience and explore issues of significance to Californians. Eligible
projects may apply for film or radio production funding up to $50,000,
new media production funding up to $20,000, or research and development
funding up to $7,000. Please see

Artists are invited to submit proposals for research projects for the coming year in the Fine Art department of the Jan van Eyck Academie. Deadline for submissions is 1 October 2011.

THE PROJECT
SEEWATCHLOOK is the newest project from Brazilian multiple-media artist
Michel Melamed. The project explores the questions : How is the city a
stage? What is theatre and what is not? Actors or citizens? What is the
boundary between a show and reality? Is it in the eye of the spectator-- In
the eyes of those watching? Seeing? Looking? And finally: What do you see
when you look at what you watch?
AUDITION
Seeking NYC-based, non-union actors and dancers for newest project by award
winning Brazilian multi-media Artist Michel Melamed. Auditions August 5, 6
New York Theatre Workshop. Rehearses and Performs in September. Auditions
and performances will be filmed for a brazilian tv series. To schedule an
Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its August 2011 art exhibition is now posted on their website and ready to view. The theme for the Light Space & Time art exhibition is an “Open” subject. The gallery received submissions from 21 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 32 different states.
Overall, there were 572 entries that were judged. Congratulations to the artists who have been designated as this month’s winners. Due to the high volume and the overall quality of the entries, 65 Special Recognition awards were also designated. This event is now posted and online to view 24 hours a day.
