Noah’s Ark Gallery Educator (Full Time)
The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a dynamic and inspiring
Noah’s Ark Gallery Educator to facilitate school and
public programs within Noah’s Ark at the Skirball, an
interactive children’s and family destination that
explores themes of community, diversity, and building a better
world. Noah’s Ark Gallery Educators may also facilitate
other gallerybased school programs offered by the Skirball.
On a daily basis, Noah’s Ark Gallery Educators practice
full-body puppetry, movement, percussion, ropes/challenge course
elements, storytelling, and facilitation of hands-on
art-making activities during both morning-school and
general-public hours. Noah’s Ark Gallery Educators report
CALL for Dia de los Muertos ALTARS
In honor of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the Museum
of Latin Americna Art in Long Beach hosts an annual altar display
and contest. Members of the community are invited to build an
altar at MOLAA, to be displayed to the public from October 20th
through November 2nd.
The display is coordinated by the Museum of Latin American
Art’s Education Department. Participants are eligible to
compete for cash prizes awarded at MOLAA’s annual Día
de los Muertos Festival. In order to win, artists are required to
be present at the festival on Sunday, October 27th, 2013 from
12-5 PM, where a panel of jurors will select the winning altars.

OPEN CALL: Encaustic and Wax Artists
This call for entries is open until October 12, 2013 for a show focusing on
Encaustic and Wax art, called WAX ART LA to be held at Catalyst Gallery in
Westminster, CA open from November 9, 2013- December 14, 2013. Any artist
located within Southern California that is working with encaustic and wax
mediums is welcome to enter (both two dimensional and three dimensional
art). Submission is free.

The Leimert Phone Company (LPC) is a collaborative design project between USC and Kaos Network comprised of students and artists in Leimert Park, that started in early 2013. The project's goal is to repurpose public payphones to encourage civic engagement and interaction, cultural and neighborhood awareness, promote financial wealth and ownership, and highlight artists of any discipline within the neighborhood.

* Develop SWOT analysis in each team community.
* Create community profiles in each team community.

Japanese American National Museum, home of the National Center for the
Preservation of Democracy, is based in Los Angeles’ historic Little Tokyo
neighborhood, it has a nation-wide focus and international base of support.
An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and AAM accredited, the

cultural museums. In 2010, the Japanese American National Museum was

IMLS. The permanent collection contains over 60,000 unique artifacts,
document and photographs.
The Archivist is responsible for the management of the National Museum’s
Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its October 2013 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online. The theme for this art exhibition is “Animals.”
An art competition was held in September 2013 which determined and judged the art for this exhibition. The gallery received submissions from 13 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 36 different states. Overall, there were 581 entries that were judged for this art competition.
