We're mostly interested in functional ceramics (mugs, bowls, vases, etc.), jewelry, wooden pieces (bowls, platters, etc.), textiles (rugs, scarves, pillows, etc.), lamps, and small furniture pieces (side tables, stools, chests, etc.). Frieze Writer's Prize was established in 2006 by frieze magazine to promote and encourage new critics from across the world.
This year, the prize will be judged by philosopher and critic Boris Groys; writer and novelist A.M. Homes and co-editor of frieze magazine Jörg Heiser.
• Entrants must submit one previously unpublished review of a recent contemporary art exhibition, approximately 700 words in length.

4th annual UCIRA State of the Arts conference, to take place at UCSD
November 18-21, 2010. Proposals are currently being accepted which
address the theme Future Tense: Alternative Arts and Economies in the
University.

The 5th Annual ARTWalk is accepting artists submissions.
The Pasadena Playhouse District Association is inviting artists to submit artwork for the 5th Annual ARTWalk. This year’s ARTWalk will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 11 am until 5 pm at El Molino Ave. between Colorado and Green St.
All artists are welcome to apply to exhibit in ARTWalk. Artists submitting work must fall in one of the following categories:
Drawing
Mixed media
New media
Painting
Photography
Sculpture
Application fees*:
- $100 - early submittal fee for applications received before June 30, 2010
- $150 - application fee submitted from July 1 – 30, 2010
*Artists work will be juried. If not selected, application fee will be returned
The MAK Center at the Schindler House in West Hollywood, California seeks a highly organized, responsible assistant with arts administration experience to work alongside the MAK Center Director and Programs Manager in all tasks and projects that define the scope of the MAK Center's activities.
Duties include:
Assist with the organization and realization of exhibitions, lecture series, fund-raising events, the residency program at the Mackey Apartments and community outreach. Attend and assist all MAK Center programs.
Manage membership and mailing list database. Working with mailing house, oversee promotional mailings to increase membership and all mass mailings such as event announcements and press releases.
