Water's ever changing surface and symbolism has held our imagination since ancient times. Images that capture water's transition are as prolific as water itself; they can be found everywhere. We are drawn to water for a myriad of different reasons - all subjects (color or black & white) are eligible.

ART GALLERY INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Internship for Contemporary Art Gallery at Bergamot Station, Santa Monica.
Bergamot station is the center for contemporary art in LA, and this is a
wonderful opportunity to learn about the art world first hand. Also, a rare
opportunity to work for an art gallery that is also a non-profit artists'
cooperative. Learn the inner workings of the gallery world in Los Angeles'
premiere contemporary art location, and help a non-profit grow into a
profitable enterprise. Participate in the revamping of a gallery. Flexible
times are available.
Duties Include:
- Inputting inventory
- Inputting clients, managing client list
The Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, CA is having a joint exhibition between graphic artists from Fukui, Japan and Fullerton, CA, USA. Artworks are needed from local LA County and Orange County artists to join us for our exhibit in Fukui, Japan.
The exhibition will be mounted at the Fukui City Art Museum from August 26 - September 25, 2011.

Loyola Marymount University, Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, offering a BA degree in Theatre Arts and a BA degree in Dance, invite applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor. The position will begin in the Fall Semester, 2011. This is a one year appointment. The position requires the professor to:
(1) Design costumes for two productions in the Theatre Program fall 2011 and one Theatre Program production and one Dance Production in spring 2012. The design portion for dance in the spring will be for selected dances in one production for the Dance Program and supervision of purchase and rental of the remaining dance costumes for that production.
(2) Mentor student designers for Theatre Arts and Dance productions, if the occasion arises.
LACE Gallery Attendant
Attendants will work with the LACE team to carry out the day-to-day operations of the gallery during the upcoming summer exhibitions: Unfinished and Speculation, as well as Thursday nights at LACE. Attendants will have the opportunity to interact directly with visitors and artists during gallery hours. Attendants will also attend private walkthroughs with the artists to learn about the project and be able to fully education the public on LACE's programming. This position provides a point of entry to contemporary art.
Responsibilities include:
. performing day-to-day duties, including opening/ closing gallery and tracking gallery attendance
. ensuring quality of visitors' experience through facility maintenance

LOWER EAST SIDE - ROTATING STUDIO PROGRAM 2011-12

Artists Alliance (AAI) is pleased to announce its Open Call for the Lower
East Side Rotating Studio Program (LES-RSP) 2011-12 sessions. Supported by
the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the
City Council, the LES-Rotating Studio Program provides two FREE six- month
residency sessions to 8 visual artists a year. Additionally, beginning in
2011, Artists Alliance (AAI) and Residency Unlimited (RU) are joining forces
to support each other's programs. Residency Unlimited will provide studio
visits and specific networking support to the artists participating in the
Open Call
Bilingual Photography Workshop for individuals that are
blind and partially sighted
PAINTING WITH LIGHT

@ El Museo del Barrio, Wednesdays 4pm—6pm
Join us for a photography workshop for individuals who are blind and
partially sighted, led by Sol Aramendi, educator, artist and founder of
Project Luz. The participants will create photographic images using
flashlights and will collaborate to develop themes and narratives for the
project. The workshops will culminate with a student exhibition in El Museo
del Barrio’s Youth Gallery, presented in conjunction with El Museo del
Barrio’s Bienal: The (S) Files. Workshops are designed for adults and
offered free of charge.
