QMAD, Queens Media Arts Development, invites artists to submit works for consideration in the upcoming Performance Art Festival, ITINERANT. This year's program focuses on works that treat notions of intimacy, self-reflection, and introspection. Artists working in contemporary performance art, visual performance art, and transmedia (sound, video and emerging technologies) are encouraged to apply.
ITINERANT 2012 will be presented in Brooklyn on Friday, March 30, 8 – 11 pm at Grace Exhibition Space; in Queens on Saturday, April 21, 6 – 9 pm at Crossing Art Gallery; in Manhattan on Saturday, April 28, 7 – 10 pm at Floor 4 Art, and in the Bronx (date and place to be confirmed).
Submission Guidelines:
Online Deadline is Saturday, March 17, Midnight.
Eligibility
Artists of color…
with a demonstrated creative practice and who are interested in (or already) making socially-engaged art. Proposed projects can use any medium or artistic genre as long as it can be adapted to a site-specific project in a working coin-op.
who live in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area (including Jersey City and Newark) and Philadelphia.
who are available to fully participate in all residency activities from May – October 2012.
who are not enrolled as a full-time student at any point during the residency.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its March 2012 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online. The basis and theme for this month’s art exhibition was “Landscapes” and artists where asked to interpret and depict the natural world, outdoor scenery, geographical environments’ and any related landscape subjects.
The WFAE Newsletter, a bimonthly publication of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, is interested in contributions of short 700-900 word articles, or OP-ED pieces, about topics related to soundscape ecology. Six featured articles are published each year. Articles may include images, video and sound links.
