The Academy of Fine Arts Mainz, at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU), is the only art academy in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The international Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral came under the auspices of the Academy of Fine Arts in 2021. Together they now form a unique partnership in Germany, facilitating a dialogue between art education, artistic development, and mediation.
Below is information about our upcoming exhibition. We will be holding an opening reception, and hope you all will come out and support our artists.

The Program Director is the primary leader of Flux artistic programs, chiefly including an Artist-in-Residency, Public Exhibitions & Events, and “Satellite Projects” in partnership with fellow institutions. In the midst of a building sustainability campaign, the Program Director will play a key role in reopening and growing our programs in a promising new phase of Flux’s history.
Most of the Program Director’s time will be spent managing the Residency at our home-base on 29th Street, but you will also play a leadership role in Public Programs and Satellite Projects. The essence of the Flux Residency is sharing space with each other, and so a majority of work hours must be spent in the building, while remote work for certain tasks is appropriate.
