THE BLANK THEATRE, LEAD PRODUCER Job Opening

POSITION: Lead Producer will work closely with the Artistic Director and will be responsible for the overall management of all Productions and The Blank’s Annual Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival. The Producer will also support the running of The Blank’s new play development program, The Living Room Series, with the Artistic Committee and LRS Associate Producer. Part time to full time position with some flexibility. Occasional evening/weekend hours required.

Each year from January to March, the City of West Hollywood presents a free-to-attend, indoor concert series of folk, jazz, and world music.
Concurrent with this year's concert series, the City is accepting applications from both new and established musicians in all styles of music – classical, contemporary, jazz, folk, traditional, world -- for the 2017 Free Winter Sounds Concert Series. Tabakalera - International Centre for Contemporary Culture's key features is its transversal nature, acting as a crossroads where different disciplines can coexist. Tabakalera aims to inspire reflection on contemporary issues via a programme of seminars, workshops, screenings, exhibitions and publications. It creates a critical community by supporting creation, knowledge and exhibition programmes that are aimed at both a specialist audience and the general public.

The Keyholder Residency Program offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Residencies are free and one year long, starting on April 1st and October 1st each year, and they take place in the shared Artists’ Studio, including the solvent/etching area and the darkroom. Keyholders work independently, in a productive atmosphere alongside other contemporary artists. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; print-making skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking techniques is available for new Keyholders. Technical assistance is not included in the program, but is available at additional cost. Participation is competitive.

Intro to Screenprinting
with Roni Henning

Fee: $425
Explore the wide range of techniques in this versatile medium. Screenprinting allows you to easily print hand-drawn, photographic, and digital images on paper, fabric, and other surfaces in a variety of colors. You will create stencils and learn to use a vacuum press and exposure unit to develop screens. Topics will include screen preparation, color separation for multi-screen prints, correct color mixing, registration, screen monoprinting, editioning, and basic methods of printing onto t-shirts and other objects. Artists should bring ideas and/or images to the first session.

The Franklin Furnace Fund awards grants annually to emerging artists to enable them to produce major performance art works in New York. Grants range between $2,000 and $10,000 based on the peer review panel allocation of funding received by Franklin Furnace.

Franklin Furnace has no curator; each year a new panel of artists reviews all proposals. We believe this peer panel system allows all kinds of artists from all over the world an equal shot at presenting their work. Every year the panel changes, as do the definitions of “emerging artist" and "performance art." So if at first you don't succeed, please try again.
