Funding Opportunity to Boost City of Los Angeles Arts and Cultural
Enterprises

With support from the Surdna Foundation, the Center for Cultural Innovation
(CCI) and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) have
partnered together to create the Creative Economic Development Fund (CEDF),
a funding opportunity for projects that will help launch startup ventures or
expand micro-sized creative enterprises with five or fewer employees. This
year, the partnership will provide $100,000 in grants of up to $12,500 each
to independent businesses, self-employed artists or cultural producers,
artist collectives, or nonprofit organizations with earned income activities

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
5 HOUR SCULPTURE: EXPERIMENTS IN PUBLIC SPACE
If you had five hours to present a work of sculpture in a public park, what would you create?
Montalvo Arts Center is reaching out to artists of all disciplines and interdisciplinary collaborative teams interested in experimenting with public practice and exploring the creative possibilities of temporary “sculpture” in our 175 acre public park. We are looking for innovative proposals for events, temporary installations, interventions, gestures, actions, participatory engagements, and spectacular intrusions, all of which would occur during a five hour period from 5-10pm on Friday, July 22, 2016.

Frank Moore’s Shaman’s Den streamed live on the internet almost every Sunday night from 1998 until Frank’s death in 2013. The Shaman’s Den was a 2 1/2-hour variety show featuring in-studio concerts by bands from around the world and in-depth conversations about politics, art, music, and life.
