Sofia Underground Performance Art Festival started in 1997 as a series of performances unfolding in a long happening.

Over time, Sofia Underground has evolved into a forum, an event that showcases and debates contemporary art in interaction with the independent scene. A meeting where emerging, established, local and international artists can experiment, create, exchange and collaborate spontaneously on the fly. A space and time continuum with its own unique energy and atmosphere. A form of resistance, of sober questioning of reality by the means of art.

Bennington College seeks a dynamic and visionary curator to expand the College’s exhibition and public programs through a newly created position. The new Director and Curator of the Usdan Gallery will have the opportunity to develop a creative and multidisciplinary program at one of the country’s most forward-thinking liberal arts colleges.

With equal emphasis on curation as both a practice and a concept, the Director and Curator will:

a. curate exhibitions that facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations among faculty, students, and visiting artists across the spectrum of the liberal arts;

The month-long residencies will take place in mid March-mid April, mid August - mid September, and November. Each intake will accommodate 4 artists. Flaggfabrikken – Center for Contemporary Art is offering the opportunity to undertake a one month residency for three artists in Bergen, Norway at the Christinegård Villa.

Five minutes from the downtown core, Christinegård has a fully equipped kitchen, functional fire place, large shared bathroom, multiple living rooms, large balcony and front yard. It has one of the best views in Bergen, situated atop of one of the many mountains surrounding Bergen overlooking the Norwegian Fjords.
