AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

Tawny and I have been invited by costumer to the "Cars" Ann Closs-Farley to design and build a costume for Ms. January of this year's 99cent musical.

Ken Roht's (Orphean Circus) nearly annual 99cent show features a set and costumes COMPLETELY CREATED WITH MATERIALS FROM THE 99CENT ONLY STORE!

As a documentation of our process, as well as a tutorial for anyone interested in working in this style, I will be checking in with a new post every few days...

Our first meeting with Ann was great. She let us "shop" for a whole bag of goodies donated by the 99cent only stores. We grabbed packing tape, plastic tablecloth material, silver "bead" necklaces, shiny car visors (for the front window,) and other miscellaneous materials.

Ann reminded us that all of the "cloth" we were going to create needed to be entirely covered in the packing tape.

She also forwarded to us our director's (Ken's) notes for the character- LAVENDER RAIN.
