I grew up and have lived in the Boston area all my life. I have been taking pictures since I was a child, but didn’t go professional until early 2007. I am a source photographer for Boston Coasters (www.bostoncoasters.com) in Harvard Square, Boston, MA. My pictures are hung on consignment at The Inkwell in Amesbury and The United Front Co. in Revere (both in MA). I currently have have a Halloween show going on until the end of October, 2008. Starting November 1st I will have all now photographs hung. My pictures have appeared in The BostonNow newspaper, New England Sports Magazine, WCAT TV (local television program) and even on a CD cover and publicity photos (for Kyle Davis). I have worked as a photographer’s assistant for two separate professional wedding photographers for a short time, but my heart is set on selling my own work. It brings me joy to not only take the pictures, but to share these pictures with others.
For my own personal pictures I love to take pictures of ironic street scenes, interesting people, and local events. I have the ability to see the unusual and humorous in everyday life. I love taking pictures of doorways, flowers, piers and boats. I also love doing photo stories, such as one I did when I followed a triathlete from the moment she got up in the morning, through preparation for her events, and finally to the celebration of the completion of the triathlon. To get a better idea of what I do, please go to my website at www.cathystacyphotography.com; www.tabblo.com/studio/person/cathystacy and www.flickr.com/photos/cathystacy. I can be reached at
by email me at stache3@yahoo.com.
I am self-taught, but have taken a couple of digital camera courses at the New England School of Photography in 2007, Portrait Lighting at Boston Adult Education in 2008. I am taking courses to further improve my skills as I find them.
I hope you enjoy viewing my pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.
