There are 69.8 million estimated international migrants in Europe today, amounting to 9.5 per cent of the population (IOM). While their paths and experiences differ greatly, they face some common challenges, often including stress, anxiety, loss of self-esteem, and loss of social network. As a consequence many migrants in Europe remain segregated if not marginalized. Engaging in art has been shown to facilitate improvements on both the individual and the social level, by enhancing the individuals’ artistic and social creativity and also by creating social connections. Nevertheless theories on how art can enhance adaptation are not systematized, methodologies are rarely evaluated with a scientific rigor and the developed programmes, resources are not collected, different initiatives often remaining isolated.
To answer these needs our partnership engages in:
1) Expanding our knowledge on art based methodologies helping adaptation
2) Widening the range of available good quality, reliable methodologies
3) Valorising these methodologies to make them accessible beyond the project duration

Art Line is a South Baltic Cross-Border Project consisting of 14 partners in the Arts and Academy from Poland, Germany, Russia, Lithuania and Sweden. During three years, between 2011-2013, 14 partners from 5 different countries in the South Baltic region will in joint collaboration give rise to works of art. Exhibitions, workshops, seminars and art-experiments are planned, all relating to contemporary art, primarily digital art. All these exhibitions, workshops, seminars and art-experiments are collaboratively composed and carried out between participating partners, thus giving rise to a South Baltic art-network to stimulate both local and international art-scenes in Poland, Sweden, Germany, Russia and Lithuania.

Circular Facts is a collaborative endeavor between three European contemporary art organizations: Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory (Utrecht), Objectif Exhibitions (Antwerp), The Showroom (London) in partnership with Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen and Electric Palm Tree. The project is an informal think-tank and a mutual support structure that works as a hub for the production and dissemination of artistic projects. The emphasis of the collaboration is on finding non-bureaucratic ways of working together, the sharing of imaginative thinking, and open-ended forms of circulation. Beyond our common interest in maintaining a climate conducive to artistic creativity and criticality is a desire for a pragmatic and sustainable model for co-production, which we hope to continue beyond the scope of this particular project. Circular Facts is funded by the European Union Culture Programme.

Comité Van Roosendaal
The Comité van Roosendaal is a platform involving some of the leading contemporary art institutions in the Benelux/Rhineland area. The Comité van Roosendaal has been functioning for some years as a reflective meeting platform to discuss policy questions for public contemporary art institutions. With this conference, the Comité van Roosendaal creates an opportunity to discuss issues at the heart of the group's main interests – our relationship to the increasingly privatized public sphere; our role in articulating cultural politics; our specific engagement in both global and local positions; and our response to the dominant modes of consumption. The Comité van Roosendaal members are de Appel arts centre, Amsterdam; BAK, Basis voor Actuele Kunst, Utrecht; BPS 22, Charleroi; Kunst- und Austellungshalle, Bonn; Extra City, Kunsthal Antwerpen; Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf; Mudam, Museum of Contemporary Art Luxemburg; M HKA, Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven; Wiels, contemporary art centre, Brussels; Witte de With, Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam.
