I discovered Brian Eno when my ex-boyfriend choregraphed to his music. I liked what I read at the time in 2001.
"An artist is now much more seen as a connector of things, a person who scans the enormous field of possible places for artistic attention. To create meanings, or perhaps new readings, which is what curators do - is to create."
Now Mr. Eno is talking politics, the war and everything else:
"National governments are not really the seat of power any longer. The serious problems we face our global problems and they're not susceptible to the wills of one particular government. They really have to be passed up to a global level. Environmental issues are like that – terrorism. . . problems we should be solving as an international community. And then - on the other hand - a lot of other problems are too local for national governments they should be handed down to local neighborhoods."
Listen and watch Brian Eno talk more about power shifts in the 21st century world communiy -
