World Press Photo contest open to photojournalists worldwide

World Press Photo is now accepting applications for its 2008 contest,
open to photojournalists around the world. Deadline: January 10.
The contest is currently accepting entries delivered by mail or
courier, and it will begin accepting online submissions on December
1. There is no fee to enter. Photographs must be news-related.

The contest will award first, second, and third prizes in 10
categories. First-place winners in each category receive cash prizes
and round-trip tickets and lodging in Amsterdam for the awards
ceremony in April 2008. The overall World Press Photo of the Year
Award winner receives EU€10,000 (about US$14,640).
