AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

I recently began a new project of making a deck of tarot cards. I have
studied the tarot since I was twenty, and have tried numerous times to make
my own deck, but I always got hung up on the details. I just could not wade
through all the contradictions. But finally I came at it from a purely visual
direction. I needed a deck of tarot for a music video I want to make, I have a
huge collection of tarot decks, some are beautiful reproductions of antiques.
But I realized I wanted to have my own deck to use in this video production.
And so I just dove into the process of making them.
I told my closest friends, my favorite muses, and then I sent out a casting
call on Model Mayhem and My Space. I guess I thought I would have a few
people who would want to work with me, and I would do it over time.
Instead, I was completely blown away by the overwhelming response to this
project. I filled all the required spaces within two weeks. I have created a
data base to keep all the models information in one place, so I can be sane
with all the details, and not get too stressed out. What has most impressed me
is the kind and generous way everyone has approached me, their enthusiasm for
the idea, and willingness to collaborate. I just want to thank everyone for
being so supportive of my creative process. I am overjoyed.

I am shooting images for 78 cards, it is a process I thought I could do during
the summer, but now it is August and I am only a third of the way through!
I feel it is important to process the images and get my models a few photos from
the sessions right away, so I have been processing the pictures from the sessions,
choosing the first ones that strike me, and doing my many layered Photoshop art on them,
Later when all the models have been shot, I will go through the raw images and choose
those which best represent the tarot card, and do my layout for the cards.
I am still looking for a publisher, so if anyone has any helpful advice let me know.
