Born in Peru and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, contemporary painter Richard Bruland now makes his home in Los Angeles, California, USA. Richard cultivates a deep and integrative belief that art can, and should, still matter - not just to those in the art world, but outside of it as well. In the 1980's Richard owned Bebop Records and Fine Art in Reseda, California - a combination Record Store, Art Gallery and Performance Place that became one of the best know venues in the L.A. area for underground and alternative music, performance art and poetry. Richard is represented in Los Angeles by Gail Harvey Gallery in Santa Monica, and in Ashland, Oregon by Davis and Cline Galleries.
