This 3-month intensive supports emerging artists, cultural workers, and organizers who want to deepen their creative practice, explore socially engaged art, and build community.
EmergeNYC is an incubator and affinity network for socially engaged artists to develop their creative voice, explore the intersections of art and activism, and connect to a thriving community of BIPOC, migrant, and LGBTQIA+ practitioners who challenge dominant narratives through cultural resistance.
The Flagship Program in-person at the BAX Annex is led by george emilio sánchez.
Applications open Tuesday, November 25 and will be due Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The Flagship Program will run every Sunday (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Eastern Time) from February 8 to May 10 at the BAX Annex. Final works-in-progress will be presented live at the BAX Theater at 421 5th Avenue, Brooklyn on Saturday, May 16.
Financial aid will be available to cover part of the tuition on a need basis.
