About stadt.raum.experimente
In 2022, the Kunstkommission (Art Commission) of the City of Düsseldorf launched an annual format that focuses on the enrichment of contemporary art in public space. With stadt.raum.experimente, local and international artists are invited to develop temporary concepts for Düsseldorf’s urban space. Whether installation, performance or participation, stadt.raum.experimente is open to unusual forms and experimental ideas.

Funding is granted to artistic projects in public space that reflect the state and processes of change in the city and actively help to shape future developments, for example with regard to sustainable aspects. Projects may also address socially relevant issues.

Up to 120,000 EUR is available each year. Each project will receive a maximum of 60,000 EUR. Additional funding from third parties is possible.

Applications can be submitted at any time. The deadline for applications for the year 2025 is October 15, 2024.

Jury meeting
The jury meeting will take place approximately 6 weeks after the deadline. After the jury meeting, the political bodies will decide on the selection. The final decision will be communicated to the applicants in writing and does not have to be justified by the jury.
