Kaphar Studio Seeking Full Time Art Director Position To Begin ASAP

Kaphar Studio is a fine art production company led by award winning artist, filmmaker and activist Titus Kaphar. We are a small, committed team of creatives with diverse backgrounds and skillsets. Kaphar Studio is expanding and seeking an Art Director to join us in support of our mission—to make things that matter. This position provides limitless opportunity to develop and grow alongside one of the leading visionaries in art, design and entrepreneurship.

The ideal Art Director will have a sophisticated aesthetic, proven experience in artistic design and project development, and an ability to work in a fast-paced creative environment. You will work closely with the Artist to visualize creative concepts related to all aspects of the studio practice including: art work, multimedia installation, film and fashion design, among others. Final deliverables will incorporate image, video and print mediums.

This is a full-time position. Individual must be available to work in the studio at least 3 days per week. Full time preferred, but open to part time to start. Competitive salary and benefit structure, with hybrid work models and schedule flexibility.

Salary range: commensurate with experience. $70,000-$90,000 USD

Qualifications:

- An expertise in Photoshop. Proficiency in the Adobe Suite and video editing software including Adobe Premiere and/or plus.

- A versatile skillset and ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment where projects evolve quickly.

- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills that thrive in collaborative environments. All communication must be founded in respect for others, and open mindedness.

Responsibilities:

- Develop a studio style guide.

- Work closely with the Artist to develop creative concepts. Determine how to best represent a concept visually. This includes ideas related to: print publications, exhibition and installation proposals, art work mock ups and prototypes, and film production, among others.

- Present requested visual materials to Artist. Implement feedback quickly, and constructively.

- Establish detailed deliverables, timelines and budgets.

- Identify and hire talent and collaborators that will help us meet defined project goals when applicable.

- Work with project partners to develop visual content for marketing, press and publication purposes.
