Producer for The Perelman Performing Arts Center
The Perelman Performing Arts Center is currently under
construction at the World Trade Center. Within its three
flexible and intimate performance spaces, The Perelman
will produce multiple projects in theatre, dance, music
and chamber opera, each surrounded by thematically
linked curated programming and significant community
participation.

The Perelman is seeking to hire a full-time Producer (job
title to be further refined in collaboration with the
successful candidate) who will begin in early 2020. This
new position will collaborate with Artistic Director Bill
Rauch to oversee all artistic programming of this new
arts center. The Producer’s primary responsibility will be
to manage the commissioning, developing and producing
of original projects, as well as helping to curate
presented work. The Producer will also recruit and
oversee curatorial advisors. The successful candidate
should have a proven track record and an extraordinary
ability to collaborate with artists, an insatiable curiosity
about multiple disciplines, a profound commitment to
equity and marginalized voices, and an unshakeable
belief in art that inspires hope.

We seek a Producer who is eager to roll up their sleeves
and build something new; nimbleness, improvisational
problem-solving ability, and a proclivity for managing
multiple projects simultaneously are a must. The
Producer must possess an insight into and experience
with production budgets and should demonstrate that
they have successfully delivered opening nights for the
artists and organizations that they have previously
served.

Since our organization will seek new ways to pioneer
audience involvement and community participation, the
Producer also needs a passion for the diverse
communities that make up our city; extensive experience
in New York is essential. A background in community
engagement is a significant plus, as is experience with
theatrical unions and contracting.

The Perelman aspires to create work that pushes the
boundaries of form while simultaneously creating access
to a broad range of audiences through a celebration of
story. Given our artistic director’s career-long focus in
theater, we will prioritize candidates who have history
with a range of performance disciplines.

Cover letters and resumes of possible candidates along
with the contact info for three references should be sent
to Emily Calderin at ecalderin@theperelman.org.
