From July 8 to November 8, miart – Milan’s international fair of modern and contemporary art invites exhibitors to apply for its 25th edition.
Please click here for an overview of the next edition, including information about the sections, the list of Prizes, the Selection Committee, the curatorial team, and the application process.
Under the artistic directorship of Alessandro Rabottini, miart brings together modern art, contemporary positions, and limited edition design, fostering unexpected dialogues between post-war masters, emerging talents, iconic contemporary artists, designers, and architects. Through its 5 sections—Established Contemporary, Established Masters, Generations, Decades, and Emergent—miart aims at presenting the broadest chronological offering in Italy, from the art of the beginning of the last century to works of the most recent generations.
Through the prism of its 5 sections, the fair promotes a distinctive blend of important historical works, artistic positions from the past that deserve to be fully rediscovered, promising and established contemporary practices, and interdisciplinary approaches.
For the 2020 edition, miart will operate outside of the distinction between art galleries and exhibitors that are active in the fields of collectible design and decorative arts. With miart taking place on the eve of the Salone del Mobile, and with the background of Milan as a crossroad that has been historically nurturing the exchange between art, architecture, and design, the fair will expand the current potential of the dialogue between disciplines.
miart will once again be the catalyst for the Milano Art Week, an intense program of exhibition openings and newly commissioned events conceived in collaboration with the major public and private institutions in the city and organized in conjunction with the Municipality of Milan.
In 2019, the Milan Art Week gathered together established exhibition spaces such as Fondazione Prada, Fondazione Nicola Trussardi, Pirelli HangarBicocca, Triennale Milano, PAC – Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea, Museo del ‘900, Fondazione Carriero, Gallerie d’Italia, GAM – Galleria d’Arte Moderna, FM – Centre for Contemporary Art, Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Osservatorio Fondazione Prada, Fondazione Pomodoro, Fondazione Stelline, Palazzo Reale, Triennale Teatro dell’Arte, Fondazione Pini, and Fondazione ICA, amongst others.
Applications must be completed online by Friday, November 8, 2019.
