THE POSITION
Intersections International is looking for a creative, passionate individual to join our team as our Content Curator and Associate Producer. This individual will create vibrant, engaging, and visually appealing multi-media content to be published on Intersections website, social media platforms, and the newly redesigned website of Believe Out Loud – Intersections’ signature program to advance LGBTQIA equality and affirmation. This individual will also assist with every aspect of the production of all video, podcast/audio, graphic, and written storytelling content developed for Intersections’ programs, with a special focus on Believe Out Loud. Ideal candidates will share the vision of hope and possibility that justice programming at Intersections endeavors to create and share. Candidates also should also demonstrate an understanding of intersectionality and a commitment to racial and economic justice. A familiarity with civil rights movements, non-discrimination issues of relevance to LGBTQIA communities and an ability to see the world through a non-hetero normative lens is a plus.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Digital and Creative Content Manager, create and execute
content plans for Intersections’ website and social media platforms, including especially,
the Believe Out Loud website and social media outlets.
Work with the Justice, Advocacy and Civic Engagement Manager to create and execute content plans for the Believe Out Loud website. This includes, but is not limited to, crafting scripts and production plans, and creating production budgets.
Direct and edit compelling educational and informational documentary-style videos for the Believe Out Loud website featuring individuals sharing their experiences or opinion, interviews, and life stories.
Create appealing graphics and illustrations to supplement educational and informational content on the organization’s website.
Assist the Digital and Creative Content Specialist and the Justice, Advocacy and Civic Engagement Manager in identifying pertinent topics, individuals, and other resources to feature on the Believe Out Loud website.
Assist other Intersections’ program staff in creating multi-media content.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. in film video production, multi-media design software, or related field is required.
Demonstrated experience creating high-quality video and film products.
Experience producing interesting and engaging podcast and other audio content.
Excellent editing skills and extensive knowledge of all necessary editing software.
Ability to handle audio and camera equipment for production of video or audio content.
Ability to use photo-editing software and graphic design software to create quick and
easily-digestible illustrations, adding to a creatively rich and visually stimulating user
experience on the Believe Out Loud website.
Ability to engage with interview partners, subjects of and participants in video or audio
portrayals in a welcoming, respectful, and professional manner.
Ability to interact respectfully and confidently with people of different cultural,
socioeconomic and religious backgrounds.
Experience with faith-based organizations or communities is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Curiosity to explore novel and creative ways of storytelling that are engaging and
educational.
Candidates must be able and willing to occasionally travel for video/audio productions or
interviews outside of New York City.
Understanding of issues at the intersection of faith, religion and LGBTQIA life is
preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, video and audio
editing software is desired.
Foreign language skills are a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is situated in an open workspace environment. Overtime work in the evening or on weekends may be required to complete direct service, travel or humanitarian relief tasks and activities. Occasionally may be required to life moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
