Open call for public art

Part of a redeveloped neighbourhood in Reykjavík, Iceland

Deadline: May 2, 2018

The City of Reykjavík in Iceland is proud to announce an open call for public art work in a neighbourhood under redevelopment, called Vogabyggð. This project aims at including art in public space as a means to create stimulating surroundings and to make art a significant part of everyday life in the neighbourhood.

Artists are encouraged to submit ideas to the first part of the selection, which is in two steps: an open call for participation in a preselection leading to a closed competition. Further information about the open call can be found on the project website.

Applications for the preselection are accepted until May 2, 2018. Please send the required information or any questions you may have to vogabyggd.samkeppni@reykjavik.is.

The open call is organized by the City of Reykjavik, with the aim of enabling local, national and international visual artists to experiment with ideas, materials and site-specific projects that are engaging for the community, different ages and social groups.
