Lo schermo dell'arte Film Festival and HOME are delighted to announce the fourth edition of Feature Expanded, a unique training programme designed to support visual artists who want to make their first feature length film.
Feature Expanded takes place over six months, starting with an intensive residential at HOME in Manchester, 20–25 June 2018.The programme combines masterclasses, case studies, workshops, screenings, individual tutorials, pitching training and online follow up, culminating in a second residential during Lo schermo dell'arte Film Festival in Florence, 14–18 November 2018.
The programme is directed by Leonardo Bigazzi and Sarah Perks, with experts from across the film and visual art world including pitching expert Sibylle Kurz, screenwriter and script consultant Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten and producers Jacqui Davies, Samm Haillay and Yorgos Tsourgiannis.

Who can apply?
Feature Expanded is open to visual artists who are developing their first feature film project intended for theatrical distribution.
Participants must have a significant experience of short film production and/or moving image practice.
Number of participants foreseen: 12
Participation fees & Bursaries:
The course fee is €2,500 full price and includes food and accommodation both in Florence and Manchester. Travel costs are not included.
There are four bursaries available:
Two Feature Expanded full bursaries that cover the course fee and travel to both location.
These bursaries are available to applicants for the following countries only: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Serbia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Ukraine.
One fee only Feature Expanded bursary, available to nationals from EU member states and countries participating in the Creative Europe Programme.
One bursary offered by the Netherlands Filmfonds to Dutch citizens or residents in the Netherlands (covering 75% of the fee)
