ARTBO, the arts program of Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, announces the 14th edition of ARTBO, International Art Fair of Bogotá, which will take place between October 25 and 28, 2018 with a special preview and vernissage on October 24. ARTBO Fair is now accepting applications through their online platform: aplicativoartbo.com until April 15.
ARTBO Fair has positioned itself for its gallery selection and the quality of its experimental and non-commercial programs. Currently, it is one of the most important platforms for cultural exchange and research in the region, and its focus on carefully selected and diverse content has positioned the fair as one of the most refreshing and cutting-edge art fairs in the international circuit.
The members of the Selection Committee of the Principal section are: Elba Benítez (Galería Elba Benítez, Spain), Eduardo Brandão (Vermelho, Brazil), Beatriz López (Instituto de Visión, Colombia), Alex Mor (mor·charpentier, France) and Leon Tovar (Leon Tovar Gallery, USA).
ARTBO sections
Principal
In this section, emerging, cutting-edge and established galleries participate as the result of a careful selection process by a committee of prominent figures from the national and international art scene.
Proyectos
Features 15 solo presentations of contemporary artists represented by a gallery and selected by a curator.
Referentes
This curated exhibition explores works of art that shifted paradigms and shaped history, becoming referents for contemporary art.
Sitio
This section includes projects that are intended to stimulate the viewer’s perception through works that transcend the traditional formats of exhibition. Presents modern and contemporary works from artist from different galleries participating in the fair.
Foro
This is a space for discussing topics related to contemporary art. It is open to the public.
Artecámara
An exhibition of promising emerging Colombian artists who have no commercial representation, selected through an open call by a local curator.
Libro de Artista
A selection of artist book publishers and distributors that work the book as an artistic object, with the purpose of promoting artistic research, creation and experimentation.
Articularte
A space for experimentation and collective production, created to sensitize and bring the public closer to contemporary art practices.
