The Manager Of Creative Arts Programs will serve as the co-manager and co-creator of the Creative Youth Development framework curriculum and the primary coordinator of Casita Maria’s Creative Arts Programs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Creative Arts Programs, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the overall Creative Arts education and public programming logistics.
The ideal candidate will have experience in arts education curriculum development, program management and events production. The candidate will demonstrate a real sense of passion and responsibility for the work as well as superior interpersonal skills and excellent follow-through. The candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines and be adept at managing a multitude of details. The candidate will be a dynamic self-starter who will help lead Casita Maria to programming excellence.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will have primary responsibility for the arts education after-school curriculum for the Creative Arts Department.
Collaborate with the Education Program Manager to adapt, implement and oversee an arts education after-school curriculum, using the Creative Youth Development framework, DYCD and DOH mandates and New York City’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, to achieve an excellence rating in arts education for K-12 youth.
Develop arts education partnerships, train staff, and coordinate and evaluate the Spring 2018 curriculum pilot.
Attend professional development trainings.
Manage and implement Casita Maria’s Creative Arts programs including all administrative and scheduling logistics and duties involved in the creation, organization and production of each individual program, including but not limited to: Casita Maria Galleries, The South Bronx Culture Trail, BLITZ and Casita Presents.
Manage and implement Creative Arts partnerships and events with other cultural organizations, artist collaborations and community venues.
Manage the appropriate budgets, invoices and payments for each program.
Schedule and coordinate all meetings, rehearsal dates and program-specific space usage along with associated building requirements. Manage all logistics involved in preparation and follow-up with meetings and rehearsals.
Manage and coordinate all program specific content, production and distribution for marketing and promotion of programs.
Recruit and train appropriate volunteers and staff to support Creative Arts programming, including but not limited to: interns, event staff, installation crews and selection panels.
Represent Casita Maria at meetings and conferences related to arts programs.
Manage archive of Creative Arts images and videos.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Arts Education, or Fine Arts and minimum 2-5 years experience (including managerial experience); Master’s degree preferred.
Experience creating and implementing arts education curriculum. Knowledge and application of Creative Youth Development framework, DYCD and DOH mandates and New York City’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.
Experience working with and supporting artists, including expertise in presenting engaging visual and performing arts events in a community-based setting.
Strong knowledge of and passion for contemporary art and community-based arts practice.
Strong computer skills required with knowledge of Word, Excel, Google products, as well as ability to do in-depth Internet research.

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively, quickly and under pressure—with a sense of humor, integrity and professionalism.
Ability to prioritize tasks on a daily basis.
Ability to work during select installation / production weekends and for all evening Creative Arts events presented throughout the year.
Spanish speaking / writing a plus.
