MacDowell encourages applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics, and welcomes artists engaging in the broadest spectrum of artistic practice and investigating an unlimited array of inquiries and concerns.

We are currently engaged in a number of initiatives to broaden our reach.

Given our commitment to serving a dynamic and diverse population of artists, MacDowell offers two financial assistance programs to those who have been awarded a Fellowship. Through the generosity of several foundations and individuals need-based stipends are available to artists who would not otherwise be able to afford the time away that a Fellowship requires. Additionally, travel reimbursement grants are available to defray the cost of domestic and international travel to and from New Hampshire.
