Fall 2017 Puppet BloK at Dixon Place
— Request for Proposals —
Deadline for submissions: Thursday, April 20th, 2017
Puppet BloK features new work ranging from conventional puppetry to object theatre and everything in between. We're seeking submissions from artists of all backgrounds and career stages who are looking for an opportunity to develop new ideas and experiment with puppetry. Proposals are being accepted for new work at all phases of development from 5 to 45 minutes in length, for a one night presentation.
Although Dixon Place generally presents artists from the NYC area only, creators from outside the city will be considered for Puppet BloK, to be presented on a shared bill with local artists. The series is supported, in part, by the Henson Foundation, and a stipend will be provided for participating artists. The Fall 2017 program will run for 7-8 nights in October.
Dixon Place is committed to inclusive programming and we encourage applicants from underrepresented populations, including seniors, youth, trans, gender non-conforming artists, and artists of color to submit proposals.
