The Foundation for Contemporary Arts is actively seeking artist applicants for our Emergency Grants program. We would appreciate your help spreading awareness of this funding source to practicing artists who you may know through your organizational contacts. While the program is competitive, we thought you would have a good sense of candidates who would be a good fit for the program.
The Emergency Grants program provides prompt funding across disciplines for innovative, experimental artists with confirmed exhibition/performance dates who:
Have last-minute opportunities to present their work to the public when there is limited time to seek other funding
Incur unexpected expenses for projects close to completion
FCA and a panel of established artists review requests monthly, primarily granting to experimental artists who demonstrate last-minute need and who have few sources of financial support. Emergency Grants is the only active, multi-disciplinary program in the United States that offers immediate assistance of this kind to artists.
Grants range in amount from $200 to $2,000. We recommend that artists apply 6-8 weeks before they require funding.
Additionally, we have a small budget expressly reserved for travel expenses for projects in Central and Eastern Europe.
We encourage you to direct artists who may fit these criteria to our website for additional information regarding the application and program guidelines.
