Are you an artist who is interested in social and political issues? And do you have a desire for a safer world without discrimination? We are looking for someone with passion for art and equality to design and create the prize the winner of the tenth Student Peace Prize will receive.
The Student Peace Prize is awarded on behalf of all norwegian students, and is awarded during the International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT). ISFiT is the world's largest international student festival, run by over 400 volunteers. Every second year we invite 450 students from around the world. In february 2017, they will discuss the theme of discrimination. Read more at isfit.org or studentpeaceprize.org.
The highlight of the festival is the awarding of the Student Peace Prize to a selected student or student organization that works to promote peace, human rights and democracy. The laureate of 2017 is the peace activist Hajer Sharief (23) from Libya. Her work lights a beacon of hope in the seemingly hopeless situation for women and youth in Libya. She advocates the existence of women and youth in the political space, and works towards getting their perspectives included in peace processes.
The physical form of the price must have a design that reflects the winners work; women, peace and security, and the countering of extremism and radicalization. We want your help to shape this award into a trophy that the winner will receive during the peace prize ceremony. The trophy can be in the form of a painting, a sculpture, or whatever you want it to be, as long as it is manageable. Key words for the design can be women and youth, peace and security. This is an international competition, and the lucky chosen one who will design and create the peace prize, will earn a scholarship of 10,000 NOK to execute the project.
Are you interested in participating in this contest? Send your application with CV/resumé, budget, sketches and/or pictures to board.art@isfit.no.
Deadline: 31 October at 23.59.
Kind regards,
The Student Peace Prize, 2017
