The Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca wishes to promote research into the life and work of Joan Miró and his artistic and cultural milieu, particularly the less well known aspects.
The Foundation also wants to collaborate in recognising Miró’s importance as an artist and man through educational programmes and projects that bring contemporary art closer to society.

A)
PILAR JUNCOSA GRANT FOR RESEARCH INTO MIRÓ AND HIS ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL MILIEU
Worth €4,000.
Among its goals when it was founded, the Foundation aims to support and promote work related to research and raising the awareness of the life and artistic career of Joan Miró. Particularly of interest are those projects whose aim is to study the less well-known aspects or periods of Joan Miró's life and work, as well as the use of information provided by our documentary sources.
B)
PILAR JUNCOSA AWARD FOR AN ARTISTIC EDUCATION PROJECT
Worth €4,000 (€1,200 gross for the artist and €2,800 for its production at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca).
This project must promote and encourage greater interest in contemporary art among a specific sector of the public (teachers, children, young people, the elderly, handicapped, etc.) as well as be related to the Foundation’s documentary and artistic resources or to any other aspect of contemporary creation.
The project will be carried out at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca.
C)
TRAINING GRANTS TO TAKE PART IN COURSES AT THE JOAN MIRÓ GRAPHIC ART WORKSHOPS
2 grants open to artists interested in the techniques of printing and serially produced work.
Each grant consists of free enrolment on one of the courses/workshops held during the following year and €1,000 as travel expenses, accommodation, etc.
D)
GRANTS FOR ART TRAINING AT OTHER CENTRES
1 Grant for residence, training and participation in the Casa de Velázquez, Madrid.
The grant totals €2,000 for travelling expenses, food, etc.
The Casa de Velázquez provides accommodation at its residence in Madrid, as well as the use of its studios and participation in its programme of activities.
1 Grant for residence, training and participation in The Slade School of Fine Arts, University College, London.
The grant totals €3,000 for travelling expenses, accommodation, etc.
Slade provides the use of a studio and agreed access to the workshops and other activities programmed.
E)
TRAINING GRANT FOR THE WINNERS OF THE
CERTAMEN DE ARTE GRÁFICO PARA JÓVENES CREADORES (GRAPHIC ART COMPETITION FOR YOUNG ARTISTS)
Since 1996, the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca has collaborated with the Certamen de Arte Gráfico para Jóvenes Creadores organised by Calcografía Nacional (the Spanish Institute of Chalcography), the Real Casa de la Moneda (the Royal Mint), the CEIM Foundation and the Madrid Association of Graphic Art and Paper Businesses.
The Foundation awards a training grant to one of the winners of the Certamen de Arte Gráfico para Jóvenes Creadores.
The grant comprises free enrolment to attend one of the annual courses held at the FPJM graphic workshops and up to €1,000 for travelling expenses, accommodation, etc.
