from LA Culture Net
The climate is changing. Nature is disappearing. Inequality is growing. And our leaders are proving unable or unwilling to stem the tide of these crises. We think it’s time the arts had something to say about the state of our planet, and to begin forging a path toward a better future.
That is why we are organizing VisonLA Fest http://visionlafest.org/, a countywide climate action arts festival that will coincide with the crucial U.N. Climate Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris this December. Our intention with is to stimulate a creative response to the climate crisis and related issues through arts engagement. We’re partnering with SoCal 350 Climate Action Coalition to give local (and visiting) artists a highly visible venue in which to register their support for climate action. This multidisciplinary, grassroots Festival will present original works of art, theater, performance, dance, and public / street art throughout Los Angeles from November 30 – December 10, 2015.
We have many projects already committed from Santa Monica to Highland Park with many stops in between. But we
would be thrilled to have you aboard too, in whatever capacity fits your own vision and mission with regard to this most pressing issue.
For more information, please see our website, visionLAfest.org http://visionlafest.org/, or contact us directly with any questions. We’d love to hear from you and talk about how we might work together toward building a sustainable future.
