Title: Artist Development Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Artist Development

Job Description:
Film Independent seeks temporary Artist Development Coordinator from approximately 10.21.2013 through 5.8.2014. The position will require full-time hours (40hrs/week) from mid-November through mid-March, otherwise part-time (20hrs/week). The Artist Development Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Artist Development Department in the administration and management of the Filmmaker Labs, Grants and Awards Program, and the Fox Writers Intensive, as well as other ongoing departmental projects and programs.

Duties:

· Processing Artist Development Submissions (Lab and Grant Applications)

· Creating materials such as dossiers, syllabi, and letters

· Updating databases

· Reading scripts and applications, watching work samples, and weighing in on selection process for Artist Development programs

· Overseeing readers and coverage process for Artist Development Program submissions

· Attending and assisting with Lab and other program sessions

· Coordinating schedules of instructors, mentors, guest speakers, and other industry participants

· Other duties as needed

Competencies and Requirements:

· A self-motivated, creative individual with strategic thinking skills and a customer focus.

· A critical eye for good material and talented filmmakers.

· An ability to work with filmmakers throughout the development process, in a nurturing yet critical manner.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills. The ability to work as part of a team.

· The ability to plan and schedule projects, effectively manage time, and achieve results with limited resources.

· The ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines.

· A high level of initiative and enthusiasm and a bias for action.

· A passion for cinema, the arts, and/or independent film and a strong dedication to Film Independent and its values of inclusiveness, diversity, and collegiality.

· A strong set of positive core values and principles, integrity and personal ethics.

· Experience in the entertainment, technology or media industries preferred.

· Knowledge of film industry and/or independent film.

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and computer savvy
