How does the global network affect the creation and reception of art? How do artists react to the digitization of our world?

Internet and mobile communication are in the process of changing our society more than anyone could have foreseen. Artists are also challenged to reflect our digital age: on the internet, on canvas, in photography, as sculpture, installation, or as software. Artworks created using new technologies reached the broad art market long ago, with more and more collectors, curators and galleries investing in media art, and the public absorbing it with fascination.

UNPAINTED is a new art fair which shows together with 50 exhibiting international galleries, artistic positions reflecting the digital age, ranging from historical to current view points. Content of the fair is art made since the first computers were switched on ( algorithmic plotter-drawings, computer animation, collages, photography, net-art, software art, interactive art, sculpture, etc. ). Further more the fair covers a broad program ( concerts, symposia, special shows, etc. ) about new media art and forms an interface between the informed art audience, the active new media art scene and the interested public.

UNPAINTED invites all galleries that present media art to apply for the fair (deadline: September 30, 2013). A selection committee comprised of international art experts will select the participating galleries in October 2013.
