Interns wanted! Learn event and festival production from A to Z.
The Leimert Park Group Internship Program is an opportunity to learn how
to plan, produce and execute successful events. This 14-week program
(June 4-Sept 10) includes classroom instruction w/guest lecturers,
homework, tests, field work and a practicum (supervised practical
application of what you have learned).
Weekly Tuesday meetings from 4pm - 6pm or 6pm - 8pm, begin June 4 in Leimert Park
Village in Los Angeles which is near Crenshaw Blvd. & Vernon Avenue.
The practicum takes place during the 5th Annual Leimert Park Village
African Art & Music Festival, August 31, Sept. 1, & Sept. 2,
2013. The program concludes with an evaluation meeting.
The prerequisites for participation are:
1. Available to attend all weekly meetings
2. Commitment to complete assignments on time
3. A willingness to learn in a communal non competitive environment
This is an unpaid internship. Participants that successfully complete
the program will receive a Certificate of Completion will be equipped to host their own event.
