AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

Storey Productions is now accepting submissions for its "Voices of America" Solo Show Festival at The Little Theater in Los Angeles this September/October. The six-week festival festival will consist of six solo shows representing different facets of the "American" experience, with each show receiving three performances on one weekend.

If you have a show that you'd like considered for the festival, please send a short (one page or less) synopsis along with 5 pages from the script by June 15 to Isabel Storey, Festival Producer, at:

We will follow up with requests for full scripts from people whose shows look as if they might fit our festival.

We are looking for shows that reflect the diversity of what it means to live in America today. That diversity may include: ethnicity, culture, age (young, old, middle-aged, etc.), gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, geographic location (urban, rural, small town, big cityā€¦), profession/job, etc.

What's your story? Does it reflect a different experience of what living in America is usually associated with? Or do you represent a typical "demographic" with a different story to tell?

The aim of the festival is to open up our worlds. We each live in our own microcosm of the "American" experience--among many others who may be leading lives quite different from our own, just down the block, across town, or in another state.

We are also looking for shows that make use of the theatrical experience. Do you sing, have a talent for comedy, dance, want to include video/photos, etc. We'd like shows that go beyond a person simply speaking on stage - to include uniquely theatrical elements.

Please be advised that we are primarily looking for writer/performers who live in the Los Angeles area or are able to travel here on their own. While we are open to submissions from anywhere, we cannot pay travel or living expenses.
