Grand Performances, a summer series of FREE performing arts in downtown Los
Angeles, is seeking a creative and motivated Artist Relations Intern to
assist the Director of Programming with coordinating artist hospitality,
travel, residencies and special projects with local and international
performing artists.
This is a paid internship located on Bunker Hill in Downtown L.A. The ideal
candidate can begin in early June and work 30-40 hours /week until
Saturday, August 24th. This position requires evening and weekend work.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
The Artist Relations Intern will:
- Arrange for artists’ travel, hospitality and venue credentials
- Manage front-of-house duties and merchandise sales, including cash
transactions, reconciliation, disbursement and inventory at the end of
concerts
- Coordinate off-site educational activities, master classes, community
programs and special events
- Provide event support at post-show Artist Meet & Greets
*Qualifications*
- Intern must be available to work evenings and weekends at all
performances
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cash-handling and
merchandise-related areas
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Photoshop, InDesign, iMovie and Garage Band
programs preferred
- Retail experience a plus
- Bilingual skills a plus
*Compensation
*$350/week for a 40-hour workweek ($8.75/hour)
