Artists go to Amsterdam! Home of two renowned postgraduate institutes, the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten and De Ateliers. Both engage in a brand-new partnership, offering outstanding opportunities for talented artists to develop their work on the highest level. We offer inspiring studio visits by prominent artists and art professionals, as well as technical assistance by acclaimed specialists, within a stimulating, international working environment.
Together, the Rijksakademie and De Ateliers offer 60 studios on two locations (within a fifteen-minute walking distance). Every year, 30 studios will become available. A residency at the Rijksakademie/Ateliers lasts one year and can be extended an additional year.
You can now apply to participate in the residency starting January 2014.
Application is open to artists at the beginning of their professional career, with a focus on artists 25–35 years of age. Artists younger than 25 or older than 35 are also welcome to apply.
Portfolios will be selected by the Rijksakademie/Ateliers collectively. Portfolios from Dutch artists and artists based in the Netherlands will be considered by the Rijksakademie/Ateliers in collaboration with the Mondriaan Fonds. The Mondriaan Fonds supplies bursaries to artists who wish to participate in the Rijksakademie/Ateliers.
All artists admitted have access to facilities of both institutions, including a private studio, studio visits with renowned artists and theoreticians, technical workshops, libraries, artist’s talks, seminars, open studio events, administration services, et cetera.
Application is possible from 1 January 2013. Deadline for application is 1 February 2013.
Application is possible by completing the online application form at www.rijksakademie.nl or www.de-ateliers.nl.
