Rogue Artists Ensemble announces auditions for the role of STILLWATER in the upcoming remount of their original play for young audiences, Zen Shorts, based on a series of books by Jon J Muth. Zen Shorts premiered this past February at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts and is the newest addition to Rogue Artists Ensemble's series of theater for young audiences. The Rogues' other play for young audiences, Frog Belly Rat Bone, performs regularly in venues throughout California and has toured nationally.
Auditions will be held on Saturday August 4th, 2012 by appointment only.
About Zen Shorts
When a giant Zen master panda named Stillwater moves into their neighborhood, Michael and Addy's world is changed forever. As the children are faced with tough life lessons, Stillwater weaves three ancient Zen tales for them, full of color, magic and wisdom, intertwining on a backdrop of modern-day technology and complexity. There is always a lesson to be learned no matter how old you are – and Stillwater's tales are sure to strike a chord in everyone's heart.
Using their signature Hyper-theatrical style combining puppetry, music, video projections, and innovative prop design, the award-winning Rogue Artists Ensemble brings this popular book's lovable characters and beautiful stories to life on stage. Produced by special arrangement with Scholastic Books.
The show will go on to have a healthy touring life, as we plan to submit it for inclusion in the Northwest Regional Puppetry Festival and the 2013 summer series at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA.
