Dear Educator,
MOLAA's annual Poster Contest gives youth the opportunity to compete for cash prizes and display their work in front of a public audience. Cash prizes ranging $100-$250 will be given to three winners in each age category (Middle and High School). The instructor who submits the most participants will receive a tour and workshop package for their students.
This year, we ask that students create a poster which addresses the question "How does art improve our quality of life?" Each poster must include an original slogan and imagery. All middle school and high school students enrolled in Los Angeles and Orange County schools are invited to participate. Participants and their instructors will be honored at a special reception. Families and friends are encouraged to attend.
In order to qualify for display, posters must meet a specific size requirement, address the chosen question with a clear slogan, and exhibit both technical skill as well as artistic sensibility. Works should be two-dimensional and created with paint, markers, pastels, crayons, collage, printmaking or colored pencil. Original digital designs are also acceptable. The qualifying posters are submitted to a jury who chooses the final posters for the final exhibition at our Target Free Sunday, on April 15, 2012.
For the teacher regsitration form ,2012's Official Rules, as well as a list of FAQs. please email education@molaa.org The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, January 27th at 5 p.m.
